I began knitting as a small child by watching my mother, and taught myself to crochet as well a few years later. For the past 25 years, knitting, crochet, cross-stitch and other crafts have provided me with a creative outlet and a skill that I can share with loved ones in the form of handmade gifts. Over the past few years I have felt compelled to grow this passion into something I can share with a broader audience.
Hygge is a philosophy that has been growing in popularity recently, and with good reason. My Danish-Canadian husband and I have embraced the Danish art of enjoying coziness, as it is perfectly transferrable to our life in Canada. Much like in Denmark, this approach helps to make the long dark winters much more enjoyable. Handmade fibre arts also happen to be an extremely hyggeligt activity - one of many such pleasures that I use this space to blog about.
